Mother's Day Scented Candle DIY

Is Mother’s Day just about giving flowers to Mom? This year, why not give her a thoughtful and relaxing gift - a homemade scented candle?
Let's DIY together with #StayOkayHK:
Materials and tools:
1 glass cup (200g)
200g soy wax (depending on the capacity of the glass cup)
1 steel cup
1 candle wick
Appropriate amount of essential oils
Stirring stick
Colorant (optional for white candles)
Steps:
1. Measure soy wax into the glass cup and place it in the steel cup.
2. Heat the steel cup containing the soy wax over water until the soy wax melts into liquid.
3. Lightly dip the bottom of the candle wick into the melted wax, then place it in the glass cup and press gently for a few seconds to fix it.
4. After the wax has melted, turn off the heat and wait for 30 seconds, then add the desired amount of essential oils and gently stir.
5. If you want the colored candles, add colorant while the wax is still in liquid form.
6. Slowly pour the liquid wax into the glass cup. Once the wax cools off and solidifies, trim the candle wick. And you made the scented candle.
It's actually quite easy! You can choose the essential oil based on your mother’s needs, such as:
Lavender essential oil: good for sleep, respiratory health, and emotional balance.
Tea Tree essential oil: helps purify the air and soothe the skin discomfort.
Peppermint essential oil: repels mosquitoes and relaxes tense emotions.
Eucalyptus essential oil: clears the air, addresses insect bites, and aids in home cleaning.
Sandalwood essential oil: aids meditation, relaxation, sleep, mood and thinking.
Finally, #StayOkayHK wishes all moms a happy Mother's Day !
