Let’s do the home recycling!

On August 1, 2024, the Municipal Solid Waste charging will be officially implemented! The Stay family hope that everyone can actively engage in waste recycling to both save money and do our part for the environment!
"Blue for paper, yellow for aluminum cans and brown for plastic bottles", we believe you have heard about it before. While recycling bins can be found everywhere, not everything can be thrown in. Let’s Grandfather Stay teach us how to use recycling bins properly!
Blue for Paper: Mainly focuses on recycling three types of paper: i) newspapers, books, and magazines, ii) office paper and iii) cardboard. Papers with plastic components on the surface, such as carbonless copy paper, thermal paper, chemical-laden paper (i.e., wrapping paper, paper cups, and plates) cannot be recycled.
Yellow for aluminum cans: Remove non-metallic attachments before recycling, clean the containers, and flatten the cans.
Brown for plastic bottles: Beverage plastic bottles, personal care plastic bottles, clean plastic bags, plastic tableware, plastic containers, etc. can be recycled; plastic products with metals, rubber and silicone products, and other composite materials cannot be recycled.
In addition to the items above, there are other materials that can be recycled, such as electronics, rechargeable batteries, glass bottles, small electrical appliances, etc. Whenever possible, make an effort to recycle these items!
#StayOkayHK would like to remind everyone to keep the recyclables clean before recycling. Otherwise, it will affect its effectiveness.
