Bland diet is a good diet?

Grandpa Stay and Grandma Stay always said: “The diet of the elderly should be lighter, and it is better to keep it bland ."
But in fact, this way of thinking is not good! A bland diet with no meat, and made up of mainly whole grains, vegetables and fruits will reduce the muscle mass of the elderly. In the long term, this may lead to insufficient energy, weight loss, and increase the risk of falls.
Everyone must maintain a well-balanced diet, especially the elderly should not skip meals, have bland diet for too long, or eat leftover as a meal because they are worried about the three highs or weight control. Eat more white meats such as chicken and fish which are lower in fat and higher in protein to replenish calories and protein. Also, remember to eat three meals regularly, and do moderate exercise!
